Member of the Chen Xiao Wang World Tai Chi Chuan Association and the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.
Bristol School of Tai Chi and Nen Crosby present adapted Tai Chi and Chi Kung classes for all people including those with limited mobility, older people and those who want to work at a slower pace but still want the benefits and strengths of traditional tai chi training.
These tai chi class have a welcoming, informal atmosphere, where we aim to enjoy ourselves, have fun and meet new people. Everyone is encouraged to exercise at their own pace, or take a seat and watch for a while – both great ways to learn.
As well as the sequence of movements, known as the tai chi form, we learn some loosening up exercises, adapting them to meet individual needs. We also practice breathing, slowly and deeply, and develop concentration by focusing the mind, staying in the present and connecting mind and body.
Contact the school or talk directly to Nen about on-going classes to enquire about new groups.
These exercises bring about calmness and relaxation; they boost the immune system, developing strength and flexibility in mind and body. They create an overall feeling of well being.
During our lives we have varying levels of fitness; we pick up illnesses and injuries; we get stiff in our joints and suffer the usual aches and pains. My hope is that this class will give everyone the opportunity to feel, physically, mentally and emotionally, the best they possibly can.
Current class details: Run weekly for all ages and all abilities.
