Available now a new DVD from the school covering the warm-up exercises, standing and moving chi kung and the short Chen style Tai Chi form. Specifically produced to match the material taught in classes at the Bristol School of Tai Chi, and priced realistically at £12 plus £1 P&P.

Tai Chi Books from the School

The latest hardback book by Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang covers the 19 form, laojia yilu, laojia erlu, sword and broad sword form. Also a small section on silk reeling and basic stances. Although the text is in Chinese the pictures are excellent. Price £30 plus £? P&P.

1 cover   Chen Style Taijiquan  A great reference book on Chen Style Tai Chi, featuring Chen Xiao Wang. A bit of a classic!

2 cover  Chen Style: The Source of Taijiquan    Excellent book on background and training techniques for Chen style Tai Chi. Written in English not translated from Chinese, so very readable.

3  cover  The Chen-style Taijiquan for Life Enhancement Chen Zheng Lei's book on basic training material

4 cover  Chen-style Tai Chi Chuan Form This book by Chen Zheng Lei, one of the leading Chen style Tai Chi Masters, has excellent pictures and instructions on the movements of the Laojia form. This is the main form we study at the school.

5   Old Frame Chen Tai Chi  This book by Mark Chen is both practical and easy to read. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to start Tai Chi classes. A frank and useful insight into Tai Chi skill development.

6 cover Taijiquan: Chen Taiji 38 Short Form.  This is a book by Ren Guan Yi on the Chen style 38 form. Ren is a senior student of Chen Xiao Wang. The book has good photos and is of use to those students studying the 38 form.
